Job Description
Amcor is hiring for Full Time manufacturing and production positions with starting rates at $16+ an hour for production positions and $23+ for maintenance! Maintenance rate of pay based off of skill set! We are hiring for our Oshkosh South, Converter Films Oshkosh, Specialty Films Oshkosh, Oshkosh North, and Neenah facilities at this event!

ROLE OVERVIEW
While working in the Extrusion, Rewind, Press, Slitting, Lamination, and/or Converting department(s) you will be given an opportunity to develop your skills through our training programs. You will have various opportunities to cross-train and develop new skill sets for a successful career at Amcor.
 
  • Work just 3 or 4 days a week and shift schedules provided a whole calendar year in advance!
  • While working night shift receive a $0.45 or $0.60 night shift premium.
  • Sunday's are paid at 1.5x base salary.
  • Don't forget - our $1,500 retention bonus where $500 is paid out at 6 months remaining $1,000 paid out at 1 year of employment. Note: must be in good standing at date of payout.

WHAT COATER ASSISTANTS GET TO DO: (Rotate Every Two Weeks on a 2-2-3 Schedule 5:30am - 5:30pm / 5:30pm - 5:30am)
  • Assist Coater Operator with all aspects of the job
  • Learn to operate the machine and serve as backup operator when operator is away from machine or on vacation
  • Banding return stock, empty cores, headers, start-up rolls, and butt rolls
  • Loading new stock on back of machine and unloading finished rolls
  • Changing and cleaning silicon rolls
  • Adjust slitters and tension for each job
  • Daily and weekly housekeeping
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

WHAT CONVERTING ASSISTANTS GET TO DO: (Rotate Every Two Weeks on a 2-2-3 Schedule 5:00am - 5:00pm / 5:00pm - 5:00am)
  • Assure that all jobs are run in accordance to all written specifications including manufacturing specs, customer specs, print specs, color folders, and standard operating procedures
  • Prepare supplies for upcoming orders to expedite the changeover process
  • Maintain and assist with line clearance, and all daily /weekly cleaning
  • Assist the operator with basic machine adjustments as needed
  • Clear jams at both the cut-off knife and the cracker
  • Perform periodic measurement checks
  • Perform visual inspection of bags and wrap according to customer specifications
  • Immediately notifies Co-workers, Operator, Leads, and Supervisors /Management of Quality concerns/issues
  • Pack bags neatly and according to packaging guidelines
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

WHAT EXTRUSION/BLOWN FILM ASSISTANTS GET TO DO: (Rotate Every Two Weeks on a 2-2-3 Schedule 5:30am - 5:30pm / 5:30pm - 5:30am in Oshkosh OR 12 Hour Continuous Operating Schedule Rotating Every Time You Come In for Neenah)
  • Assist operators will aid in all aspects of operation of Tuber lines including change-overs, machine start-up, running and shut-down.
  • Support operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety.
  • While also knowing and understanding the role in product safety.
  • When qualified will operate Tubers when an operator is absent, or on vacation.
  • Order and maintain resin boxes to sustain a proper steady supply of resin for Tuber machines Packaging mill rolls Weigh and haul scrap Miscellaneous housekeeping duties
  • Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work)
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management

WHAT MAKEREADY GETS TO DO: (Rotate Every Two Weeks on a 2-2-3 Schedule 5:30am - 5:30pm / 5:30pm - 5:30am)
  • Make sure that all plates returned to the making/mounting area are clean, this includes cleaning the plate cylinders
  • Maintain the gear-up room in clean condition and place gears in proper location
  • Familiarize and understand the complete operation of the computer system for distillation to washing machine parts
  • Assist the press crew by cleaning decks, changing cylinders, and other tasks as needed to bring press back into production
  • Properly complete all documentation and paperwork, including but not limited to, job check off sheets, cleaning logs, etc.
  • Work on the presses as workloads and schedules dictate
  • Check with supervisor to find out where help is needed
  • All other duties as assigned by management and supervisors

WHAT ROLL WRAPPERS GET TO DO: (Rotate Every Two Weeks on a 2-2-3 Schedule 5:30am - 5:30pm / 5:30pm - 5:30am)
  • Wrap, label, and palletize finished slit rolls from all Rewinder lines in accordance with customers' requests
  • Properly complete all documentation and paperwork, including but not limited to, job check off sheets, cleaning logs, etc.
  • Operate pallet jack, forklift, and tilt lock in a safe and efficient manner
  • Clean compactor room, empty dumpsters, sweep, other housekeeping duties as assigned
  • Load pallets with film and put them on a pallet lift
  • Load film on a stretch wrapper, label and remove wrapped pallet
  • All other duties as assigned by management and supervisors

WHAT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS GET TO DO (Straight Tuesday to Friday 3pm - 1am OR Rotate Every Two Weeks on a 2-2-3 Schedule 5:00-5:00 or 5:30 - 5:30)
  • Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.
  • Performs necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and facility.
  • Creates and understands the work order process using SAP.
  • Problem solves issues concerning equipment operation and manufacturing processes where these relate to maximizing output.
  • Involvement in developmental project work including working with R&D, manufacturing and outside equipment and parts vendors.
  • Maintains spare parts inventory including ordering necessary parts and completing purchase requisitions.
  • Functions as part of the technical resources for the on-site staff.
  • Participates in and supports World Class Operations Management (WCOM) teams.
  • Knowledge of procedures, work instructions and associated forms as required by the Key Area Leader.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU:
  • Previous manufacturing experience a plus, not required
  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent preferred
  • Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programs
  • Possess adequate math, measurement, and reading skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Required to have visual acuity to perform visual inspection including the use of measurement devices and ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others in a team environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL ENTRY-LEVEL MANUFACTURING POSITIONS:
  • Ability to lift up to 50-60 lbs
  • Willing and able to stand and walk for a 12 hour shift
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
  • Frequent use of wrist and hands
  • Frequent stepping up and down from platforms
  • Reasonable accommodations will be considered on a case by case basis

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL ADVANCED MANUFACTURING POSITIONS:
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50-65 lbs.
  • Willing and able to stand and walk for a 12 hour shift
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
  • Frequent use of wrist and hands
  • Frequent stepping up and down from platforms
  • Exposure to solvent odors and odors created in the melting process of manufacturing plastic films
  • Reasonable accommodations will be considered on a case by case basis

WHAT WE WANT FROM MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS:
  • Minimum of a two year Electro-Mechanical degree
  • State Indentured Journeymen card as an Industrial Electrical and or Maintenance Mechanic preferred
  • Previous experience in an industrial setting working with machine processes, schedules and a variety of individuals involved in the manufacturing environment necessary
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
