POSITION DESCRIPTION: Full-Time Medical Records & Worker’s Compensation position in a busy private practice specialty orthopedic surgical/rehabilitation clinic in Appleton. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40-hours per week. Position entails maintaining and processing medical records of patients, and managing the Worker’s Compensation experience by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide excellent, friendly, and high-quality customer service to patients.
Process medical records requests and forms from insurance companies, attorneys, patients, physicians, therapists, etc.
Provide insurance and claim information to physician, patients, and workers compensation carriers.
Process workers compensation forms.
Verification of authorization if needed.
Charge entry for disability forms and medical records processing.
Charge entry for medical records requests.
Information disclosure logging for information sent out.
Handle incoming calls from insurance companies, attorneys, patients, and doctor and therapy offices.
Operates computer to process, store, and retrieve health information.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
Strong computer skills.
Microsoft Office programs knowledge.
Good to excellent communication skills required.
