POSITION DESCRIPTION: Full-time Insurance Claims Management Clerk position in a busy specialty medical practice. This position helps the practice by timely and efficiently performing various clerical and insurance duties. Performing the following duties ensure the smooth flow of insurance information and other important documentation throughout the medical facility:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
All procedures related to pended insurance claims using telephone, fax or websites.
Use of office equipment, such as copy, fax and scan.
Prepare paperwork for DWD complaints for work comp claims.
Work well in a team environment.
Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and MEDICARE guidelines.
Have excellent computer and telephone skills.
Have excellent communication/customer service. Must be able to clearly and precisely communicate with doctors, nurses, therapists, co-workers and patients.
Have basic knowledge of insurance plans (HMO, PPO, etc.) contracts, claims and payment processes.
Have basic knowledge of medical office practices, terminology, and abbreviations.
