Job Description

We are seeking a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist to:

  • To perform a wide variety of imaging exams on adults, geriatric patients, adolescents, and pediatric age groups using a wide variety of radiographic equipment, computers, detectors, and plate readers.
  • Will need to be able to troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system.
  • Must have the knowledge to make quick and highly technical decisions in order to accommodate physical restrictions and pathology.
  • Serve as a clinical instructor for affiliated imaging training programs and participate in the instruction of other technologists and visiting health care professionals and may also participate in clinical research.

Education:

Minimum - Graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology.

Preferred - Bachelor's degree in relevant field.

Work Experience:

Minimum - Previous healthcare experience.

Preferred - Two (2) years clinical experience.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum -

  • Certification by appropriate body (ARRT) and valid Wisconsin Radiological License. Out of state applicants are encouraged to apply and will need obtain Wisconsin Radiological License prior to starting.
  • CPR certification required within three months of hire.
  • If Bone Mineral Densitometry is part of the hired role, Bone Mineral Densitometry certification within 30 months of hire.

Preferred -

  • Radiology certification.
  • If Bone Mineral Densitometry is part of the hired role: ARRT Bone Densitometry Technologist (BD) or ISCD Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist (CBDT) within 1 year of completing orientation.

  • Knowledge regarding quality improvement and standards of care within practice area.
  • Capable of demonstrating flexibility with demands of external/internal customers placed on operating functions of the department.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Capable of wearing lead aprons for extended periods of time.
  • Physical ability to lift and position patients and assist with patient transfers utilizing beds or stretchers.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Demonstrates critical care skills to patients with higher acuity. (ED, ICU, NICU, PICU, Intraoperative Neuro MR, OR).

Physical Requirements:

Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Schedule:

90% FTE, night shift. Week one schedule: Thursday 6:00PM - 6:00AM; Friday and Saturday 10:00PM - 8:00AM. Week two schedule: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 10:00PM - 8:00AM. Weekends and holidays required as scheduled. Standby call rotations required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay:

  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience and includes night shift differential.
  • External hires may be eligible for up to a $8,000 sign on bonus (pro-rated based on FTE).
  • Relocation assistance up to $5,000 may be available for qualified applicants.
  • An excellent benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid time off and retirement plans. Full time benefits for part time work (for positions 60% FTE and higher).
