Position Overview

In this role you would go through a 12-18 month rotational program to develop understanding of sales and of the corrugated business through participation in design, customer service, estimating, accounting, sales, and manufacturing processes amongst Midwest based divisions. Each rotation will focus specifically on a functional area to develop key skills to lead towards a successful sales career. Upon successful completion of the rotational program, candidates will be offered an opportunity for a sales role.

Responsibilities

This program will be divided into 3 rotations which will each show a different aspect of the business. Throughout each rotation there will be travel to other division locations for expanded learning opportunities.

Rotation 1: Design - Candidates will learn key concepts of corrugated design including but not limited to structural design, graphics design, project coordination, production specifications and limitations. Rotation will include actively designing and contributing to the division design department along with understanding production capabilities.

Rotation 2: Office - Candidates will learn key functions of the front office at the division primarily focused on customer service and estimating. Rotation will include actively contributing to order entry and estimating processes while understanding other functional areas including accounting, quality, etc.

Rotation 3: Sales - Candidates will learn key functions of sales including but not limited to prospecting, cold calling, pipeline management, account management, budgets/quotas, etc. In this rotation candidates will learn the skills needed to be a liaison between customers and internal teams. There will be opportunities to shadow GBP Territory/Account managers to understand different techniques and strategies and to assist in servicing accounts. In addition, candidates will be responsible for cold calling, and prospecting a territory of their own.

Upon completion of this program, candidates will be offered an opportunity for a sales position within the Midwest region. Candidates must be willing to relocate; travel requirements and compensation will be based on placement.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Packaging, Sales, Marketing or related fields and/or 1+ years customer service, design, production, etc. within GBP.

* Knowledgeof thepackagingindustrypreferred.

* Ability to make a quick decision sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure. Problem solving skills.

* Possesses excellent time management and organizational skills.

* Writes clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles. Able to get messages across that have the desired effect.

* Relates well to people inside and outside the organization. Builds appropriate rapport along with constructive and effective relationships. Uses diplomacy and tact. Diffuses even high-tension situations comfortably.

* Steps up to conflicts, seeing them as opportunities. Reads situations quickly. Good at focused listening.

* Confident under pressure.

* Strong PC skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

* Position requires candidate to present a good, frontline image of GBP organization to our customers and prospective customers.
