Your Job

We are seeking an Expediter with excellent communication and critical thinking skills for the Georgia Pacific's Projects and Engineering, Asset Strategies Team. The Expediter will primarily work with vendors securing all documentation needed for Asset Strategy development. The Expediter will process the documentation inputting all information into our database and multiple CMMS we use. Understanding that priorities are changing each week based off incoming documents and scope of projects. The Expediter will work in a dynamic team environment and communicate with both internal and external contacts.

This position is a remote based role, with 25% travel involved.


Our Team

The Asset Strategy Team supports all of Georgia-Pacific from Building Products, Dixie, Packaging & Cellulose and Pulp, Paper sites. The team delivers asset strategies from hierarchy to BOM's, spare parts, lubrication, inspections, NRX and MatterPort scans.


What You Will Do


  • Develop and use metrics that accurately measure key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement and waste elimination in work processes and inventory management
  • Optimize and control inventory levels of critical parts with careful analysis of demand and supply
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution related to inventory, order delivery, production, and transportation/logistics
  • Periodic reviews with manufacturing facilities to discuss opportunities for continuous improvement of inventory management processes, finite sequencing and capacity leveling
  • Responsible for continuously updating the information in the CMMS, such as Bills of Materials, GPID's and specifications for ordering
  • Uses strong verbal and written communication skills to solve problems and provide status updates to customers and suppliers (e.g., commitment dates)
  • Call and expedite documentation as needed to complete jobs in a timely manner
  • Prioritizing workload based on incoming material from OEM's
  • Building data sheets in Excel from Bills of Materials
  • Completing various forms and input information into our data systems
  • Issue, organize and maintain documents for each project
  • Initiates changes to improve the effectiveness of the work process


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience in parts identification
  • Knowledge of failure modes for parts
  • Experience reading Bill of Materials from multiple suppliers
  • Experience in Excel (create and modify spreadsheets using formulas and ability to analyze data) and Word (create and modify documents)
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and resources at one time and prioritizing

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in the Pulp and Paper industry
  • Advanced Excel knowledge to include pivot tables and data analysis
  • Ability to identify good OEM data vs incomplete based on parts nomenclature
  • Five or more years of experience in an engineering administrative support function
  • Exposure to drawings, materials, Bill of Materials, and documentation


In this role we anticipate paying $75k to $90k annually.
