Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a full-time Graphic Design Instructor on our Fond du Lac Campus beginning August 19, 2024 for the fall semester. This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet workforce needs. In addition, will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner's classroom and career goals. Although this position is based in Fond du Lac, you may be teaching online or on another campus.

The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in a related field, or willing to obtain a Master's Degree from an accredited program. Progress toward a Master's Degree will be measured through the successful completion of a minimum of six credits of coursework annually, beginning with the second year of employment. You must also have two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five years. In lieu of this one year of recent experience, two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five years may be considered. (Two years of post-secondary teaching experience means eight semesters of part-time teaching or four semesters of full-time teaching at an accredited institution.)

Responsibilities:

    Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College's core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
  • Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.
  • Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
  • Assist with student recruitment and proactively promote the College programs and services offered.
  • Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.
  • Build and maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.

    • Set up scans for layouts
    • Estimate and cost of jobs
    • Work with customers
    • Prepare digital files for output
    • Develop, spot, and process color layouts
    • Develop and construct digital layouts
    • Work with printers and prepress services
    • Design with software specifically:
      • Photoshop
      • Illustrator
      • InDesign
    • Oversee quality control of design projects
    • Track time and expenses spent on projects

Other Position Requirements:

  • Flexible scheduling may be required to include evenings and weekends.
  • This position may require travel to MPTC (Moraine Park Technical College) campus locations other than the base location, client/contract work sites, and/or Department of Corrections (DOC) institutions.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Hiring Range: $66,775 - $83,469

Starting: Fall semester 2024

Remote/Hybrid/In-Office: Open Campus, Frequent Travel
