Job Type:RegularThe Retail Store Associate Lead will provide exceptional customer service while adhering to all food safety requirements. This position is also responsible for product orders, assigning tasks to the Retail Store Associate position and serves as a point of contact for vendors. The Retail Store Associate Lead is responsible for proper opening/closing procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Greet customers entering the establishment, contributing to a positive guest experience by exceeding their expectations and preparing orders to their specifications.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean check out area.
  • Run the cash register; receiving payment by cash, check, or credit card and issuing receipts, refunds, or change as needed.
  • Perform reconciliation of cash drawer, ensuring amounts are correct and that adequate change is available.
  • Maintain adequate stocking of shelves, cleanliness, and organization of work area throughout the day.
  • Price products.
  • Prepare and distribute sampling products to customers.
  • Cook and prepare food items per our standards of quality, consistency and timelines.
  • Operate equipment safely as determined by organization safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all health code requirements and organization standards.
  • Take shipping orders.
  • Maintain store keys.
  • Coordinate the assignment of tasks to the Retail Store Associate.
  • Responsible for counting money for the safe.
  • Order product as needed.
  • Serve as vendor point of contact.
  • Break down blocks of cheese and cut to correct specifications.
  • Responsible for counting money for the safe and taking deposit to bank in absence of management.
  • Responsible for employee and guest safety in absence of management.
  • Ensure all temperatures are within acceptable limits and proper rotation of product is in place.
  • Responsible for taking inventory during bi-annual store inventories.
  • Provide comprehensive training all year for regular and seasonal employees.
  • Coordinate invoicing and picking of product for Weyauwega and Luxemburg deliveries.
  • Coordinate invoicing and picking of product for special events (i.e., Cheesefest, Breakfast on the Farm, etc.)
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing store when cleaning service is unavailable or did not provide adequate service.
  • Responsible for processing all donations for store.
  • Assist management with updating SOP's and training plan as necessary.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Learn how to prepare Fudge/Cheese Fudge.
  • Open and close store.
  • Assist in completing Opening & Closing checklists and master cleaning schedule.
  • Greet guests and assist customers to drive sales.
  • Monitor back door receiving from start to finish.
  • Put away orders in the walk-in cooler or storage room.
  • Maintain food storage, receiving, stocking & rotating per food safety and organization standards.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Safety Protocol
    • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
    • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
    • Support safety policies and programs.

Qualifications:

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience Required:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in customer service, retail and/or food safe environment required.

Certification/Licensure Required:

  • Food Safety Certification required.
  • Responsible Beverage certification required.
  • Hand jack and forklift required.

Skills Required:

  • Dedication to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; acts with customers in mind.
  • Basic computer operational skills.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
