SUMMARY
The Product Quality Specialist is responsible for execution of Nature's Way quality programs to ensure products produced in our Green Bay, WI manufacturing sites meet or exceed corporate quality requirements and are compliant with relevant regulations including 21 CFR 111, 21 CFR 210/211, and 21 CFR 117. This position works closely with supply chain to qualify new components, with the Quality Control Laboratory when setting specifications and conducting out of specification investigations, and with Product Development and Operations to help commercialize new products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Execute processes for component and product qualification, establishing and maintaining specifications for raw materials, packaging components, bulk, and finished goods.
  • Use quality-related information systems (i.e. SAP, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), TraceGains) to execute quality processes.
  • Issue Supplier Nonconformance (NC) notifications for components. Review and approve the related corrective action (CAPA) responses.
  • Conduct thorough, accurate, and timely out of specification (OOS) investigations. Make related disposition decisions, and material reviews. Ensure that appropriate corrective and preventative actions are taken.
  • Review and approve deviations.
  • Review and approve rework plans.
  • Review and approve Master Batch Records.
  • Represent QA to internal stakeholders and other site projects as assigned.
  • Work with QA, process leaders, or business leaders on urgent/critical activities or corrective actions and to identify and mitigate quality risks.
  • Adhere to company GMP policies when contacting or participating in the production environments.
  • Support and train in Quality Management Systems as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a science related discipline; one to two years relevant experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience, including Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), quality assurance practices, and basic scientific principles within Chemistry, Biology and Microbiology.
