BHMG - Etown Pediatric Clinic

FT - SLP

The SLP assesses and evaluates patients in order to develop and implement speech language therapy intervention to facilitate rehabilitation. The therapist provides on-going education to patient, and family members.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assesses and evaluates patient to establish the plan of care.
  • Communicates information regarding patient's status and progress to all members of the care team including the physician.
  • Delivers care consistent with the plan of treatment.
  • Involves patient, family and other caregivers in planning and delivery of care.
  • Documents all aspects of care consistent with agency policies and reimbursement requirements.
  • Participates in required meetings, in-services and performance improvement activities.
  • Completes validations and competencies in a timely manner.
  • Takes personal responsibility in delivering excellence.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in speech language pathology skills specific to area of practice.

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:

  • Current Kentucky Speech Language Pathologist License Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech, Language, Hearing Association
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification
